Founder of One New Man Gospel Ministry, Rabbi Steven Feldman gives his testimony.

So, what’s a nice Jewish boy doing in a place like this? I was born to two liberal Jewish parents in Connecticut in 1952. Twenty years later, after living a hippie lifestyle for a couple of years, I was born-again. This time by the Holy Spirit. After searching scriptures, especially the New Testament, I came to believe that Jesus Christ, who I thought was the God of the Catholics and Protestants, was in fact the awaited Jewish Messiah.

My beloved wife of forty five years, Barbara and I wandered in a doctrinal wilderness for four years. I was hungry for the pure truth of the Word of God, but wasn’t receiving very much discipleship. Then in 1976, the Lord led us to a wise and well seasoned Assembly of God Pastor. I felt a strong call of God on my life, but I desperately needed help and guidance.

I remained on the ministry staff of Bethal Assembly of God, in Franklin Square, New York until 1979. Then, we stepped out of the boat and moved with our two young children about fifty miles east on Long Island. We rented a house, made a sanctuary in the basement and went door to door preaching the Gospel. That’s only the beginning.

The school of the Holy Spirit affects us in a multitude of ways. I have lived through poverty, depression, identity crisis, miracles, signs, and wonders, all taught by the grace of God. I received a diploma from Bible College and ordination with the Assemblies of God in 1986. I received Rabbinical credentials with the IAMCS in 2008. But, nothing compares with the “first love” revelation that I received from Abba in 1995. My soul and spirit were healed, and I began to see an ever widening schism in the believer and in the body of Messiah. Is Christ divided? Is there real holiness, passion, intimacy with God, love and forgiveness amongst us?

In 1997, after pastoring an Assembly of God Church for 12 years, I thought that I was done with ministry. My vision had dried up, my fire had grown cold, and I resigned from my church. During a year of sabbatical from the ministry, the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob began to rekindle His fire in my soul. But this time with a paradigm shift. My Jewish roots and the Jewish roots of the New Testament started to become a very important theological issue. I began to seek God as to the biblical balance of this truth, and to know what was in His heart in putting Jews and Gentile together in His body, His Bride.

In 1998, God sent us to partake with a congregation of on fire, radical, passionate believers of Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) in Albany, New York. The Seed of Abraham congregation seemed to be an interesting mix of Messianics, Pentecostal and Charismatics. The worship was intensely anointed and very prophetic. I became the Associate Rabbi there in 1999 and in 2008 I became the Senior Rabbi.

Over the last couple of years, we have experienced many miraculous life changes to wholeness, miraculous inner and physical healings, salvations, deliverances and one, medically confirmed, raising from the dead. All of this is due to the grace and Glory of our God. However, I believe that Abba confirms His Word with accompanying signs. His Words and promises have their greatest manifestation in a Divine environment of truth, faith, holiness, unity, love, praise and worship that is 100% about Him. One New Man is what God has made us to be. I could write a book about my experiences in our thirty years of serving the one true living God, but so could many of you. Let us join together as one in the Holy of Holies, at the mercy seat, and experience what’s next for the Glory of God.
